Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented quality assurance nurse to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be a licensed vocational/practical nurse with a strong background in home health. The candidate will have experience. working in acute, subacute, and medical-surgical areas with individuals 18-100 plus years of age. Some with shorter minor injuries and illnesses, others with complex, life-changing illnesses’ and challenges! This individual will play a crucial role in ensuring the highest standards of patient care and safety within our organization. This position requires a strong understanding of clinical practices, adherence to regulations, and the ability to assess and improve quality assurance processes. The Quality Assurance Nurse will work collaboratively with healthcare professionals to uphold best practices in patient management.
Responsibilities
Conduct regular audits of documentation with clinical practices to ensure compliance with established standards and protocols.
Review patient records for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to Medicare, CDPH, and HIPAA regulations.
Collaborate with clinical staff and leadership to implement quality improvement initiatives and monitor outcomes.
Provide training and support to nursing staff on quality assurance measures and best practices.
Participate in triage processes, ensuring timely and appropriate patient care.
Maintain accurate documentation of quality assurance activities and findings.
Assists in assuring policies and procedures are reviewed, updated annually, and as needed.
Qualifications
License Vocational Nurse (LVN) required; additional certifications in quality assurance or related fields are a plus.
Experience providing direct patient care as one or as part of a home health care team.
The direct or indirect management of patients in acute care, subacute care, and medical-surgical areas.
Familiarity with standards of care in critical care settings is highly desirable.
Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and commitment to patient confidentiality.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills to assess clinical practices effectively.
