Quality Control Technician / Quality Control Inspector
Position Summary
The Quality Control Technician is responsible for ensuring that products meet established quality, safety, and customer specifications throughout the production and packaging process. This position works closely with production employees and supervisors to identify quality concerns, complete inspections, maintain accurate documentation, and ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and company quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine quality inspections throughout the production and packaging process.
- Inspect finished products for proper packaging, labeling, coding, seals, appearance, and overall quality.
- Verify that products meet customer specifications and established quality standards.
- Conduct line checks at start-up, during production, and when product or packaging changes occur.
- Review product labels, lot numbers, expiration/best-by dates, weights, and other required information for accuracy.
- Complete required quality documentation and inspection records accurately and on time.
- Identify and document defective or non-conforming products.
- Communicate quality concerns immediately to production leads, supervisors, and management.
- Place products on hold when necessary and assist with investigating quality issues.
- Verify that employees are following GMP, sanitation, hygiene, PPE, and food-safety requirements.
- Monitor production areas for potential contamination, foreign material, or other quality concerns.
- Assist with product sampling, weight checks, packaging inspections, and other quality-control testing.
- Support corrective and preventive actions when quality issues are identified.
- Maintain organized quality records and ensure required documentation is completed properly.
- Work closely with Production, Sanitation, Warehouse, and other departments to maintain quality standards.
- Follow all company safety, food-safety, and quality procedures.
- Perform additional quality-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Previous Quality Control or Quality Assurance experience in a manufacturing, food production, or packaging environment preferred.
- Experience working in a GMP-regulated environment is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify product or packaging defects.
- Ability to accurately complete forms, inspection sheets, and production documentation.
- Basic computer and data-entry skills.
- Ability to communicate quality concerns clearly and professionally.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and move throughout the production floor.
- Must be dependable, organized, and able to work independently while also working closely with the production team.

- Food or dry-product packaging experience
- GMP and food-safety knowledge

- Label and packaging verification
- Product weight and specification checks
- Lot/code verification
- Non-conforming product documentation
- Basic Microsoft Excel or computerized quality-record experience

Pay: $17.00 – $18.00 per hour
