The Incoming QA Inspection Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring that all incoming materials and products meet quality standards while actively driving process improvements across the inspection and supply chain processes. This role combines technical expertise with a focus on optimizing quality assurance procedures, ensuring regulatory compliance, and continuously improving the efficiency and effectiveness of incoming material handling. The Specialist will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for enhancement, resolve quality issues, and maintain rigorous standards for incoming materials.
Key Responsibilities:
Inspection and Testing: Perform detailed inspections, testing, and sampling of incoming materials and products to ensure compliance with quality standards, specifications, and regulatory requirements.
Process Improvement: Actively identify areas for process optimization and implement solutions that improve quality control workflows, reduce waste, and enhance overall inspection efficiency.
Collaboration and Issue Resolution: Work with cross-functional teams, including production, procurement, and engineering, to address quality issues, drive root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
Data-Driven Analysis: Utilize data from inspections and testing to identify trends, make informed decisions, and drive continuous improvement initiatives within the inspection and supply chain processes.
Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate, organized records of inspections, test results, and corrective actions, ensuring transparency and compliance with internal standards and regulatory requirements.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that all incoming materials meet industry standards and regulatory requirements, including ISO, ASTM, and relevant local or global standards.
Continuous Improvement Participation: Lead or support process improvement projects aimed at enhancing quality, reducing cycle time, and increasing the efficiency of incoming quality inspections.
Requirements:
Associate’s degree in a technical field, a relevant technical certification, or a Bachelor’s degree in Quality Assurance, Engineering, or a related discipline.
2-5 years of experience in quality assurance, inspection, or process improvement, preferably in a manufacturing or supply chain environment.
Proven experience in identifying process inefficiencies and leading improvements within quality assurance workflows.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and generate actionable insights to improve processes.
In-depth knowledge of quality standards (ISO, ASTM, FDA) and regulatory compliance requirements.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; advanced skills in Excel for data analysis and reporting.
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards in all aspects of the role.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
