Job Description
Responsible for designing and executing comprehensive actuarial test cases while validating systems, models, and calculations to ensure accuracy and compliance with RBC standards. This role involves detailed test planning, manual and automated test execution, defect management, and collaboration with cross‑functional teams to maintain quality and operational excellence.

What Will You Do?
Test Case Design & Development

Develop detailed, comprehensive test cases based on approved test plans and requirements

Design test scenarios covering functional integrations and testing needs

Prepare and validate test data to support accurate test execution

Document test cases and maintain organized test documentation.

Test Execution & Validation

Execute approved test cases manually and/or using automated testing tools

Perform system validation testing on actuarial models, calculations and processes

Compare actual results against expected outcomes and identify discrepancies

Verify fixes and conduct regression testing

Log and track defects with clear actionable documentation.

Defect & Issue Management

Provide detailed information on defect reproduction, impact and root cause observations

Collaborate with Digital and Data teams and Business Partners to verify defect resolutions

Quality & Compliance

Maintain accurate and comprehensive testing documentations and audit trails

Follow RBC quality and governance standards and the Agile Operating Model for testing and implementation.

What Do You Need to Succeed?
Must-have

Test case design & documentation – Ability to create comprehensive, well‑organized test cases from requirements

Manual and automated testing

– Experience with both approaches; ideally familiarity with automation tools

Test data preparation – Understanding of data validation and test environment setup

Defect tracking & logging – Proficiency with bug tracking systems and clear documentation practices

Actuarial systems experience (or financial/banking domain) – Understanding of model validation and calculation processes is a significant advantage

Regulatory compliance awareness – Familiarity with quality standards and audit requirements

Attention to detail – Critical for test case accuracy and defect documentation

Cross‑functional collaboration – Must work effectively with Digital, Data, and Business teams

Problem‑solving mindset – Ability to identify root causes and reproduction steps

Nice-to-have

Pay Range
The expected pay range for this position is: $55,000.00 – $90,000.00. The pay range provided is for the primary work location referenced in the Additional Job Details section of this job posting.
