Aerospace Quality and Development Assurance Engineer
About the Role
As a Quality and Development Assurance Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring that our aerospace products and ist development processes meet the standards of quality needed for regulatory compliance. Working closely with Engineering, Program Management, Manufacturing, and our customers, you will support projects throughout the entire product lifecycle—from development and verification to certification and production.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Plan, coordinate, and execute system development and software quality assurance activities throughout the product development lifecycle to ensure compliance with ARP4754A/B, DO-178C, DO-254, and DO-160G.
- Monitor development activities for system, hardware, and software of electromechanical actuators.
- Conduct internal and customer audits, as well as support formal certification audits by authorities.
- Review engineering documentation, as well as system, software, and hardware life cycle data to ensure compliance with applicable plans and aerospace standards.
- Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, FMEA, and root cause analyses.
- Drive corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Systems Engineering, Hardware, Software, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain.
- Contribute to the development and improvement of quality management processes in accordance with EN9100 / AS9100.
Qualifications:
- University or technical college degree in the field of aerospace systems engineering, mechatronics, or similar.
- At least 3 years of experience in system development assurance and software quality assurance, while working in aerospace certified organisation (AS/EN9100 or Part 21J).
- In-depth knowledge of aerospace standards, such as ARP4754A/B and DO-178C, as well as associated development assurance processes.
- Familiarity with aerospace standards RTCA DO-178, DO-254, DO-160
- Proficient in performing Requirement Based HSIT, SIT, unit testing and manual code analysis.
- Professional experience in aerospace system of software development and/or verification is a plus.
- Fluent English written and spoken, German is a plus
