Location: Town of Islip
Quality Inspector
Play an active role in the implementation of the Quality Policy as defined by the company.
Ensure that the requirements of AS9100 and other applicable industry standards are maintained.
Develop and enter inspection plans for company products.
Mechanical inspection of parts and materials.
Perform first article, first piece, in-process & final inspection and generate required records.
Ensure that the documentation control process is maintained.
Participate in the final release for shipments of all products.
Requirements
Associate Degree or equivalent.
3 – 5 years of experience within quality assurance, quality control, manufacturing engineering, or mechanical inspection.
Use of hand tools such as calipers, micrometers, gauge pins, gauge blocks, tool scopes, optical comparator.
Able to use Adobe, Excel, Word, Gage Trak, GMS, and software to access and retrieve data.
Read and interpret complex machining, fabrication, and assembly drawings.
Able to do own setups, perform own inspections, and process control validations.
Prior experience in aerospace or other high integrity industries.
Able to keep organized reports and records.
Certified Mechanical Inspector a plus.
Knowledge of Geometric Tolerance, CMM a plus.
