Aggregate QC/QA Specialist – Western Region Jobs in United States at State of North Carolina

General Summary of the Position:
Working closely with our Project Manager, the QC/QA Inspector is expected to perform a variety of tasks related to quality and compliance.

Major Functions of the Job

Full time 40+ hours per week, with the ability to travel within Florida up to 25% and periodically outside Florida. Required to work irregular shifts that may occur during nights, holidays, and weekends.
Assist with compliance/quality assurance reviews in the field as assigned by project or function.
Assist with or perform QC/QA inspections and/or Compliance Reviews.
Oversee established processes and procedures that have been developed by the company to manage the quality management program.
Work closely with Project Manager to ensure adherence to all applicable federal, state, local policies and procedures.
Create and modify documents using Microsoft Office products.
Coordinate and maintain records for the quality program, contractual requirements (report writing),

Show initiative; seek out work and get the job done without being told.
Communicate clearly with supervisors and other team members.
Expected to meet the 60-minute response requirement for on-call IRC Manager on a 3-week rotation and as needed for the project.

Minor Functions of the Job

Lead and coordinate meetings and required training.
Participate in weekly safety meetings and required training.
Be a dependable, reliable and highly organized member of the team with business maturity, discretion, enthusiasm, and positive attitude.
Provide assistance to project, regional management and support staff as necessary.
Be familiar with various parts of roadway, bridge, drainage structures and other road assets and correct work methods for various activities required to maintain and repair highway infrastructure.
Complete daily logs and perform routine maintenance checks on assigned vehicles: check fluids, air filter, tire pressure, change tire, etc.
Be a dependable and reliable member of the team.
Show initiative; seek out work and get the job done without being told.
Provide assistance to other workers as necessary.

Physical Requirements and Environmental Factors

Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds repeatedly while twisting; other strenuous manual labor may be required.

Will ascend/descend structures to perform job duties.
Work safe and independently in vehicle traffic zones.
Ability to work safely in a wide range of environmental and weather conditions (i.e. work in hot, cold or wet conditions for extended periods of time).
Ability to stand for extended periods of time while operating equipment.
Ability to operate hand/power tools.
Must wear personal protective equipment at all times on job site.

Qualifications

Some college education or experience in related field
Maintain company standards for background checks (i.e. criminal record, driving record and controlled substance/drug testing)
Knowledge of local driving rules and regulations
Maintain proper safety equipment required for each job
Knowledge and ability to adapt to the latest technology
Intermediate proficiency with smart phone, computer, and Microsoft Office applications
Ability to adjust to changing work schedule
Ability to perform with minimal supervision
Ability to work safely under ranging environmental and weather conditions
Read and understand manuals, write documents following prescribed formats
Knowledge of Microsoft Office software
Solid organizational planning
Proper phone technique and protocol
Excellent verbal and written skills
Ability to establish priorities and manage workload
Ability to perform basic math skills including calculations using fractions, percents, and/or ratios
Self-starter who can work independently
Dependable and highly organized with business maturity, discretion, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude
