In the role of Part-time Job Shop Inspector, you will be essential in ensuring product quality and compliance with industry standards. Reporting to the Quality Assurance Manager, your core skills in inspections and analysis will be vital in maintaining high manufacturing standards. You will utilize precision measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers, along with coordinate measuring machines, to conduct thorough inspections.
Quality Control Inspector at Cincinnati / Forest Park Job Shop / Machine Shop
Perform in-process and final inspection on parts, often with documentation
Compare measurement results to Engineering drawings to determine acceptability for use (pass / modify / fail)
Effectively and respectfully communicate with machinists and management if any issues are found
Use of measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, indicators, thread wires gauges, pins, etc.)
Experience with measuring threads (over wires and with gages, inch and metric) strongly preferred
Full understanding of blueprint reading and GD&T
Overall understanding of machining process
Qualities: Organized, efficient, accurate, friendly, great work ethic, collaborative, team player, calm demeanor
Able and willing to do some light machining a plus if time allows (mill, lathe, balancing)
Approximately 2-4 hours per day, weekdays only, 2-4 days per week. Mid-mornings preferred, but days and hours can be adjusted for the right candidate.
Ability to stand for periods of time. Ability to lift parts: most are 5-30 pounds but can get up to 50-70 at times.
