We’re looking for an Android App Tester (Manual & Automation) who can take ownership of app quality and testing. You will be responsible for testing Android applications, identifying defects, validating fixes, and helping the team deliver a reliable and high-quality product.

 Location: Bangalore (Initially Remote for the first few months. Candidates will be required to work from our Bangalore office thereafter. Only Bangalore-based candidates should apply.)

 Experience: 1+ year in Android mobile manual & automation testing

 Salary: ₹10,000 – ₹22,000 per month

⏰ Working Hours: 40 hours/week

Core Responsibilities

  • Perform manual testing of Android applications across different features and user flows.
  • Create and execute test cases based on product requirements and expected user behavior.
  • Perform Android automation testing for suitable and repeatable test scenarios.
  • Identify, document, prioritize, and track bugs with clear reproduction steps.
  • Perform regression testing after bug fixes and new feature releases.
  • Test application functionality, usability, compatibility, and overall user experience.
  • Validate fixes and ensure defects are properly resolved before release.
  • Work closely with developers and the Hiring Manager to investigate and reproduce issues.
  • Maintain testing documentation, test results, and relevant quality records.
  • Continuously identify opportunities to improve the testing process and product quality.
  • Take ownership of the application’s quality rather than limiting testing to assigned test cases.

Ideal Candidate

  • At least 1 year of experience in Android mobile manual and automation testing.
  • Strong understanding of software testing fundamentals and QA processes.
  • Experience creating, executing, and maintaining test cases.
  • Ability to identify edge cases and think from an end-user perspective.
  • Good debugging and analytical skills.
  • Ability to clearly communicate defects and testing results.
  • Comfortable working independently in a remote environment.
  • Willingness to learn new testing tools and adapt to changing product requirements.
  • Strong attention to detail and ownership of assigned work.

Technical Skills & Software RequirementsMust-Have Technical Skills

  • Android Automation Testing
  • Strong understanding of functional, regression, smoke, sanity, and exploratory testing
  • Test case creation, execution, and maintenance
  • Bug identification, documentation, prioritization, and verification
  • Ability to analyze requirements and identify positive, negative, and edge-case scenarios
  • Understanding of mobile application testing across different Android devices and OS versions

Automation Framework

  • Hands-on experience with Appium for Android mobile application automation is required.
  • Ability to create, execute, maintain, and debug automated test scripts using Appium.
  • Experience automating functional and regression test scenarios.
  • Understanding of mobile automation best practices, including element identification, waits, synchronization, and handling different device configurations.
  • Ability to identify suitable scenarios for automation and distinguish them from scenarios better suited for manual testing.

Software & Tools

  • The candidate should be comfortable working with industry-standard QA tools, including:
  • Appium — Android mobile automation
  • Android Studio / Android SDK — Android testing and debugging
  • ADB (Android Debug Bridge) — device interaction and troubleshooting
  • Git/GitHub — version control
  • Bug/task management tools used by the team
  • API testing tools where required for validating application behavior

Device Requirement

Candidates must own an Android device suitable for testing applications.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Relevant testing experience, practical projects, or demonstrated QA skills can be considered in place of formal education.

Collaboration & Availability

  • Full-time: 40 hours/week
  • Participation in required team meetings and DSMs.
  • Infofrenzy: Every Tuesday at 1:00 PM IST
  • Maintain good availability and responsiveness during working hours.
  • Maintain clear communication with the team through the designated communication channels.

What Success Looks Like

Success in this role means consistently identifying meaningful defects, completing testing within expected testing cycles, maintaining reliable test coverage, validating fixes thoroughly, and proactively improving the quality of the Android application.

The tester should demonstrate the ability to find problems before users do, not simply complete a predefined checklist.
