We are seeking a hands‑on Test Lead to support a new strategic initiative, the Colleague Application Toolkit. This role is ideal for a technically strong QA leader who can step into a new build, quickly understand the system architecture, and shape the testing approach from the ground up. This is not a purely managerial role – the successful candidate will be hands‑on with API automation, while also providing leadership, direction, and structure to an existing QA team.
Key Responsibilities
- Take ownership of testing for a newly built internal platform, working closely with engineering and product teams to understand the system end‑to‑end
- Define and document the Test Strategy and overall test approach, aligned to delivery timelines and quality goals
- Be hands‑on with API automation, contributing directly to test creation and execution
- Work with existing QA engineers to design and evolve an automation framework, improving coverage and maintainability
- Provide technical leadership, coaching, and day‑to‑day support to QA team members
- Embed testing best practices early, ensuring quality is built in from the start
- Collaborate closely with developers, architects, and stakeholders to ensure clear ownership of quality and risk
Required Experience
- Proven experience as a Test Lead or Senior QA in complex delivery environments
- Strong, hands‑on experience with API testing and automation
- Experience defining test strategies for new systems or platforms
- Comfortable leading while remaining technically active (“player/coach” mindset)
- Experience working in regulated environments such as retail banking or financial services
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
