We are currenting seeking a Quality Associate to join our leadership team. The quality associate will be responsible for coordinating and directing team members on proper adherence and execution of our food safety and quality management system within our frozen food production facility.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
This position is responsible for the overall food safety, quality and sanitation programs within the production processes.
Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:
1. Oversee HACCP program and ensure compliance with all established CCPs and process authority parameters.
2. Audit GMPs, housekeeping and sanitation practices to maintain compliance with all regulatory and company policies.
3. Verify and/or perform weight checks, viscosity checks, calibration checks, can checks, etc.
4. Ensure code date accuracy and verify packaging versions on all components during processing.
5. Provide oversight of all production activities; ensuring all processing documentation is complete and accurate and the finished product meets all quality standards.
6. Ensure raw materials are stored, staged and used per processing instructions to maintain efficient workflow.
7. Prepare and audit production documentation and oversee execution and verification of scheduled sanitation activities.
8. Assist with heat penetration testing and coordinate with process authority on new product development and deviations.
9. Support continuous training, record keeping and maintenance of the food safety, quality and sanitation programs within the facility.
10. Help investigate customer complaints and support corrective actions; participate in trend analysis and root cause analysis.
11. Participate in compliance audits and food safety/quality concerns – liaison with regulatory agencies including USDA, FDA, State Dept of Agriculture alongside the quality manager.
12. Complete daily standard work.
13. Other duties as assigned by management.
What we’re looking for:
1-3 years’ experience in a related field preferred.
Knowledge in food safety systems recognized by GSFI (SQF, HACCP, BRC, etc.).
Previous experience in a USDA regulated facility preferred.
A growth-oriented individual who demonstrates a sense of urgency and attention to detail.
Someone who is continuous improvement minded; a team oriented, root-cause problem solver.
Strong verbal and written communication skills that can interface and correspond with all levels within the organization.
Pro-active attitude with diligent follow-up on unresolved problems or issues.
