Job Summary:
The Quality Assurance Inspector at ELSNER is responsible for inspecting components and materials for conformance to specifications, supporting manufacturing processes, and ensuring that our products meet quality standards. The ideal candidate possesses strong measurement skills, problem-solving abilities, and attention to detail. This position supports Lean initiatives, quality improvement efforts, and inspection processes across the company.
Key Responsibilities:
Inspect parts using blueprints, engineering drawings, CMM, and precision measurement tools.
Evaluate and improve manufacturing methods based on inspection results.
Handle discrepant material, RMAs, and rework processes.
Participate in Lean projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
Perform inspections for inbound material and purchased parts.
Assess tolerances such as true position, flatness, and concentricity.
Use hand tools such as micrometers, bore gauges, and profilometers.
Investigate process variations and submit Engineering Change Requests.
Ensure compliance with electrostatic discharge and safety practices.
Support occasional receiving/shipping responsibilities.
Contribute to departmental quality standards and performance goals.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Associate degree in manufacturing or machining certificate preferred.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in quality assurance required.
Experience using handheld precision measurement tools and CMMs.
Ability to read blueprints and engineering drawings.
PC proficiency and solid organizational skills.
Working knowledge of statistics, including CPK and PPK.
Previous machining experience is a plus.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Willingness to travel occasionally to vendor or customer locations.
Willingness to be trained and certified as a forklift operator.
