The Assembly Line Operator is responsible for performing various assembly tasks on the production line to assemble electronic components and products. This role involves following detailed work instructions, ensuring quality standards, and meeting production targets. The Assembly Line Operator works under the supervision of the Assembly Line Leader to ensure smooth and efficient production operations.

Responsibilities

1.      Assembly Operations

Perform assembly tasks as assigned, following detailed work instructions and procedures.

Assemble electronic components and products using both manual and automated methods.

Ensure accurate and precise placement of components on printed circuit boards (PCBs).

Perform soldering tasks as required, ensuring high-quality connections.

2.      Quality Control

Inspect assembled products for defects, such as misalignment, poor solder joints, or missing components.

Conduct in-process inspections and quality checks to ensure products meet specifications.

Identify and report any quality issues to the Assembly Line Leader.

Participate in root cause analysis and corrective actions to resolve quality problems.

3.      Production Execution

Follow production schedules and work orders to complete assembly tasks on time.

Ensure production runs are completed according to specifications and quality standards.

Maintain a clean and organized work area to support efficient production operations.

Monitor production progress and report any issues or delays to the Assembly Line Leader.

4.      Equipment Operation and Maintenance

Set up and operate assembly equipment, including insertion machines, soldering stations, and testing equipment.

Perform routine maintenance on assembly equipment to ensure optimal performance and prevent downtime.

Troubleshoot and resolve minor equipment issues, such as misfeeds or alignment problems.

Coordinate with the maintenance team for more complex repairs and preventive maintenance.

5.      Process Improvement

Provide feedback to the Assembly Line Leader on process improvements and efficiency enhancements.

Suggest and implement improvements to assembly techniques and procedures.

Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production quality and efficiency.

6.      Material Handling

Manage the handling and storage of assembly components and materials.

Ensure the availability of required components for production runs.

Follow proper inventory control procedures to prevent shortages or excesses.

Handle materials in accordance with ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) protection guidelines.

7.      Safety and Compliance

Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company policies.

Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.

Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure a safe working environment.

Participate in safety training and audits.

8.      Documentation and Reporting

Maintain accurate production records, including machine settings, component usage, and quality data.

Prepare and submit daily production reports to the Assembly Line Leader.

Document any deviations from standard operating procedures (SOPs) and report them to the appropriate personnel.

Assist in the creation and revision of work instructions and process documentation

 Educational Background

High school diploma or equivalent.

Technical certification or associate degree in electronics, manufacturing, or a related field is preferred.

 Professional Experience

Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in assembly line operations in a manufacturing environment.

Experience in the microelectronics industry is highly preferred.

Familiarity with IPC-A-610 standards for electronic assemblies is advantageous.
