Assembly & Test Tech – Level 4 Jobs in Rocky Mount, NC at Honeywell
Provide technical assistance on new product and process development, design and complete metallurgical investigations and projects and monitor quality control procedures with emphasis on SPC techniques to facilitate the production of high quality castings for the minerals industry.
Principal Accountabilities
1. Research new product, process and quality control procedures and techniques to ensure castings of high quality are produced that meet customer requirements.
2. Perform field service investigations on casting as requested by the Quality Assurance Manager and the Marketing Department.
3. Maintain accurate records and reports covering new projects as required. Complete programs on time and within budget. Prepare status reports on launching new projects that document product development, quality control and processing technique.
4. Meet with production personnel to discuss processing techniques and casting specifications.
5. As assigned, participate in projects with other foundry departments for the development and implementation of process improvement, cost reduction, research or development projects.
6. Formulate, review, and update heat treatments to meet casting specifications and reduce scrap.
7. Maintain physical and metallurgical laboratories to set standards. Ensure the maintenance, calibration and standardization of chemical analysis equipment.
8. Monitor production processing techniques and provide technical/metallurgical
assistance throughout the facility to improve casting quality and reduce scrap levels.
9. Assist in the management of the plant quality management system including implementation,
improvement and auditing.
10. Maintain and adhere to ISO standards, including but not limited to, the Quality Policy Statement as well as the Quality Control Procedures Manual.
11. Other duties as assigned.
Necessary Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgical Engineering or equivalent education/experience.
2. Basic understanding of foundry techniques.
3. Effective written and oral communication skills.
4. Proven analytical skills

Pay: $85,000.00 – $95,000.00 per year
