Basic Function

Responsible for performing aerostructures inspections of in-work and finished product based on contract requirements.

Responsibilities

1. Perform final inspection of finished products in accordance with established procedures. *

2. Document all instances of rejected product or raw material problems in daily production report.

3. Document appropriate information for quality inspection reports for each order.

4. Prepare First Article (FAI) reports per AS9012 and contract requirements

5. Resolve customer complaints or problems in regard to rejected or non-conforming product. *

5. Report any unusual discrepancies or problems promptly to management.

6. Suggest new testing or inspection methods to minimize inspection efforts required.

7. Use Romer Arm or PCMM to perform regular inspections. *

8. Perform necessary maintenance of test equipment as needed.

9. Remain current on quality control practices and trends through publication, seminar, conferences and related trade shows.

11. Prepare and participate in ISO9001 and AS9100 audits.

12. Review shipping packages for completeness.

13. Verify each job is complete in ERP system and final inspection.

14. Use ERP system to perform in-process and final inspections.

15. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Language Ability:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers and company employees.

Math Ability:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages ratios and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of time keeping manufacturing software and database software.

Education/Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum of two years’ experience with woodshop or power tools. Minimum of two years’ experience with plastic and metal.

Equipment:

Experience with use of Verisurf Software (Romer Arm). Capable of using hand, power, mechanical tools and power testing equipment.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles. Occasionally exposed to work in wet or humid conditions, high, precarious places, near toxic or caustic chemicals, outdoor weather conditions.

The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 – $28.00 per hour
