As an Associate Product Development Manager at GUESS, you will be responsible for managing the end-to-end product lifecycle from initial design handoff through production. You will play a key role in ensuring on-time product delivery, driving margin goals, and supporting quality standards across the product categories you oversee. This role requires a proactive, detail-oriented individual with strong communication, organization, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Own and manage the entire product development lifecycle of your category, from initial design handoff through to production, ensuring seamless coordination across Product Development, Technical Design, and Production.
• Oversee day-to-day operations related to strategic costing, brand and factory compliance, sample tracking, BOM accuracy, and quality assurance.
• Maintain daily communication with overseas vendors to monitor development progress, ensure timely and accurate sample delivery, and complete cost sheets. Participate in weekly vendor calls to manage exceptions and resolve issues.
• Collaborate with vendors to maintain accurate Work-in-Progress (WIP) reports. Review, troubleshoot, and resolve development issues to ensure adherence to key milestone dates.
• Coordinate closely with Design, Merchandising, Technical Design, Materials R&D, Purchasing, and Production teams to align on product deliverables, timelines, and issue resolution.
• Leverage product knowledge and construction understanding to negotiate costs and delivery timelines with vendors to meet margin and lead-time targets.
• Accurately manage and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) and keep ERP systems up to date with PO statuses, materials, and calendar milestones from design pass-off through to production.
• Attend daily fittings to uphold design intent, costing targets, and quality expectations. Take detailed notes and coordinate follow-ups with internal and external partners.
• Track sample ETAs and work with QC and Technical Design to ensure timely preparation for design fittings.
• Partner with Production team counterparts regularly for exception management and to ensure seamless production handoffs.
• Support new vendor sourcing initiatives to expand and diversify the supplier base.
• Prioritize and plan daily tasks and projects to meet business-critical deadlines in alignment with team and department goals.
• Assist your manager and director in executing team-wide and supply chain/product development initiatives as discussed in team meetings.
• Contribute to and lead special projects as assigned by leadership to support business growth and efficiency.
EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree

Salary Minimum
$75,000.00
Salary Maximum
$82,000.00
Base salary will be determined on various factors, including but not limited to, market data, internal equity, relevant background, and experience for the specified role. GUESS?
