The Position
Quality & Production Assistant
Job Summary
KEY FOCUS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Daily testing of finished product, loading dry vans, filling pneumatic tankers, oversight of quality system
Generate/complete production and quality reports in SAP
Understand production and quality processes to identify and correct any inefficiency
Work as the technical expert for all production & quality related activities including training of new employees
Report as needed to support quality / production needs across all shifts
Offer suggestions for continuous process improvements
Good understanding of electric wiring and repairs
Introductory knowledge of basic planning or scheduling practices
Intermediate computer skills including email, MS Office Suite/Google Suite, online applications including SAP
SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES REQUIREMENTS:
Strong attention to detail and ability to organize priorities
Strong mechanical aptitude
Must be able to work well with others and follow directions
Ability to write and communicate clearly and effectively on production and quality improvement recommendations
Must maintain poise under pressure
Must have basic math comprehension and problem solving skills
Good physical condition to support movement up 2-4 levels of operation (stairs, ladders, etc.)
Ability to troubleshoot system performance related issues to solve basic problems and find a safe effective solution
Must be capable of reading and interpreting documents such as safety rules, operating procedures, quality procedures.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
High School diploma or general education degree (GED)
Three to five years of production or quality experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of training and experience.
Fork truck and JLG lift operation experience preferred
Ability to work at heights exceeding 50 feet
Physical ability to safely operate motorized vehicles (forklift, scissor lift, aerial manlift)
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds routinely throughout the work day
Valid driver’s license
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Regularly works in a manufacturing and warehouse environment, and often works near moving mechanical parts, motorized equipment
Daily contact with high temperature materials and equipment conditions
Can be exposed to extreme heat/cold depending on the season
