GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The Quality & Safety Engineer supports quality assurance across distribution and logistics operations, ensuring products are handled, stored, and shipped in compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements. Responsibilities include developing and executing quality protocols for packaging integrity, shipping conditions, and warehouse environments. You will work closely with Operations, Supply Chain, Quality, and Product Development teams to monitor distribution performance, investigate quality & safety issues, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
The ideal candidate has experience in quality systems within cosmetics or related industries, understands Good Distribution Practices (GDP), and can lead projects to improve distribution quality and compliance, as well as safety initiatives.
This is not a remote or hybrid role. Please note that the person in this role will be required to work in-office at our Fort Worth, TX (Alliance) location 5-days per week.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Collaborate with teams across Quality, Supply Chain, Product Development, and Operations to develop and execute quality & safety protocols.
Serve as a key member on our internal Safety Committee.
Conduct inspections and audits of warehouses and distribution centers to ensure compliance with Good Distribution Practices (GDP).
Create and maintain validation protocols related to packaging integrity, transit conditions (e.g., temperature/humidity mapping), and our own distribution centers and direct shipments to retailers.
Conduct & track environmental monitoring of our internal distribution centers.
Train staff across all disciplines on pertinent safety procedures
Ensure all qualifications are completed and documented in line with regulatory expectations and internal standards.
Monitor and track quality metrics related to shipping performance, damages, customer complaints, and other distribution risks.
Assist in the authoring, review, and revision of SOPs and WIs regarding quality/safety-related documents supporting Supply Chain and warehousing operations.
Contribute to investigations and CAPAs for nonconformances, working cross-functionally to identify root causes and implement improvements.
Stay updated on OSHA guidelines & regulations regarding workplace safety.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Biology, Life Sciences, or a related field required.
Minimum 2-5 years of experience in Quality Assurance or Quality Engineering.
Experience in supporting quality systems in compliance with MoCRA regulations.
Experience in quality assurance or engineering within cosmetics, personal care, or a related regulated CPG environment.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex regulatory & safety information to different audiences.
Highly detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
Collaborative team player with excellent interpersonal skills, able to work effectively across departments and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, and familiar with regulatory & safety databases and software.
Experience with conducting safety audits in compliance with OSHA Regulations & Standards.
Familiarity with environmental monitoring of facilities and processes.
Understanding of consumer product stability plans and safety testing protocols.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to stand for long periods of time and extensive walking in a non-climate-controlled warehouse environment.
Ability to repeatedly lift up to 30-lbs and bend.
Travel may vary between the Alliance location and Coppell location, must have reliable transportation.
