What You’ll Do on Day Shift
As an Automotive Quality Systems Auditor, you will be the on-the-floor champion of product integrity and process discipline in a precision machining environment. You will plan and execute internal and external audits that keep us aligned with automotive and customer-specific standards, ensuring consistency, compliance, and continuous improvement.
A Day in the Life
- Lead internal audits across manufacturing processes, quality systems, and records aligned to IATF 16949, ISO 9001, and customer requirements.
- Execute process, product, and system audits—layered and compliance-focused—to verify real-world adherence.
- Support and participate in customer, supplier, and third-party audits.
- Confirm alignment to control plans, work instructions, SOPs, and inspection plans on the shop floor.
Manufacturing & Inspection Focus
- Assess machining operations—CNC processes, tooling, fixtures, and metrology methods—for stability and capability.
- Evaluate inspection practices spanning GD&T interpretation, First Article Inspection (FAI), in‑process checks, and final release.
- Assist problem-solving using 5 Whys, fishbone diagrams, and PFMEA reviews to drive true root cause and prevention.
Documentation & Compliance
- Record nonconformances, write clear findings, and track CAPAs from initiation through effective closure.
- Verify the effectiveness of corrective actions with evidence-based follow-up.
- Maintain audit reports, checklists, and quality documentation with impeccable traceability.
- Ensure calibration and inspection records remain accurate and current.
Collaboration & Improvement
- Partner closely with Quality Engineers, Production, Engineering, and Supply Chain teams.
- Spot patterns, risks, and opportunities within processes and quality systems.
- Contribute to initiatives that reduce scrap, strengthen process capability, and prevent defects.
What You Bring
- 2+ years in quality auditing or quality assurance within manufacturing.
- Fluency in GD&T, blueprint reading, and modern inspection methods.
- Hands-on skill with calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and CMMs.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and quality management systems.
- Working knowledge of automotive quality systems and machining processes; ease engaging on the manufacturing floor and with cross-functional teams.
