About The Internship
We are looking for a passionate and driven Backend Developer Intern to join our remote engineering team. This role is ideal for aspiring developers who are eager to learn the ins and outs of server-side development and gain hands-on experience by working on real-world applications.
You’ll be mentored by experienced engineers and collaborate with cross-functional teams to build efficient, scalable, and secure backend systems.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain backend applications using Node.js
Write clean, maintainable code for APIs and business logic
Design and build RESTful or GraphQL APIs
Work with SQL (PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB) databases
Write optimized SQL queries, stored procedures, and triggers
Handle data modeling, database migrations, and indexing
Integrate backend systems with frontend frameworks (e.g., React, Next.js)
Consume and integrate third-party APIs
Collaborate with frontend, DevOps, and QA teams
Implement backend security features such as authentication and validation
Optimize code and queries for performance and scalability
Debug and troubleshoot issues in development and production environments
Requirements
Must-Have Skills:
Proficiency in Node.js, Express.js, and JavaScript
Working knowledge of both SQL and NoSQL databases
Strong analytical and debugging abilities
Good understanding of backend principles and API architecture
Eagerness to learn in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
Nice-to-Have Skills
Exposure to AWS, Docker, Git, or TypeScript
Understanding of basic DevOps practices or CI/CD pipelines
