Position Summary

Oversee quality team leaders and team members to ensure proper administration of quality policies, processes, programs and procedures. Communicate product quality and quality problems. Provide training on quality work instructions and procedures. Promotes positive team relations and leads by example.

Essential Functions

Corporate:

Treats all HTGP team members with respect and professional courtesy.
Adheres to the HTGP policies and procedures and leads others in same methods.
Confirms and adheres to all required HTGP Certification standards such as IATF16949, ISO 45001 & ISO 14001.
Always maintains pro-team member environment.
Learns, demonstrates and upholds the HTGP Core Values.
Manages the department budget efficiently as per approved annual budget
Performs special assignments as required by management.

EHS:

Adheres to all safety policies and procedures
Complies with all safety policies and 5S clean philosophy to maintain a safe, clean working environment
Consistently meets company safety goals

Technical:

Assures processes are compliant with all APQP documentation.
Assist quality management team to implement an effective process audit system.
Develops, maintains and trains on quality process to meet internal and external customer requirements.
Reviews quality checks/audits, records and reports for discrepancies and corrects any issues found promptly.
Communicates with quality CKD specialist regarding CKD part quality issues.
Works closely with quality team and manufacturing to resolve problems parts, materials, tooling and processes affecting quality.
Assists in any special project assigned to quality department.
Supports all IATF16949 activities and internal and external audits.

Leadership:

Maintains Team Members time, attendance and PTO in ADP.
Facilitates quality meetings as needed.
Works with quality team to implement the quality management system.
Leads internal corrective action activities to resolve customer complaints and return transmission issues in accordance to HTGP CAR process.
Directs and develops quality team leads through OJT, process training and skill development.
Fosters Team Member involvement in continuous improvement activities.
Communicates effectively to management and team members
Enforces clean 5S philosophy to maintain a clean working environment
Builds and sustains positive relationships with support departments and promotes a positive workplace
Makes recommendations to hire, terminate and promote
Promotes and enforces company policy
Schedule OT and coverage for PTO and FMLA
Create, update and maintain all visual aids for new and existing models
Create training on new processes needed for department
Maintain and track all training
Update and maintain COS
Complete evaluations for COS
Create QA for QC, Machining and other departments as needed.
Maintain QA system on QC stations in MES
Place and release holds in MES for NG or Suspect transmissions.
Provide EO change information to team leaders and operators
Disposition scrap
Write ups for absenteeism, job performance etc.
Maintain Offset change records tracking

Education

High School/GED
4 Year Degree or comparable background of work related experience
Equivalent work related experience (equivalency is figured generally as 2 years’ experience equaling 1 year of formal education) may be considered in addition to the “Position Requirement”.

Reports to: Department Assistant Manager or designee
Direct Reports: 3 – 5
