Role Description The Billing Specialist is a full-time, remote role responsible for managing accurate and timely billing activities that support Urban Alchemy’s operations and services. This role includes preparing and issuing invoices, overseeing client billing, tracking payments, and reconciling billing records with accounting systems. The Billing Specialist will monitor billing cycles, resolve discrepancies, respond to billing inquiries, and collaborate with internal teams to ensure data accuracy. Daily tasks also involve maintaining organized records, generating billing reports, and following consistent processes to support compliance and transparency. The individual in this role contributes to the financial stability of UA while upholding its values of respect, integrity, and service.
Qualifications

  • Strong billing process and client billing skills, with experience managing end-to-end billing workflows.
  • Proficiency in invoicing, including creating, reviewing, and issuing accurate and timely invoices.
  • Foundational accounting knowledge, including payment reconciliation and working with accounting or ERP systems.
  • Effective communication skills for interacting with internal teams and clients regarding billing questions and issues.
  • Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple billing priorities and deadlines.
  • Comfort working in a remote, technology-enabled environment with good time management and self-direction.
  • Experience in nonprofit, social services, or community-focused organizations is beneficial.
  • Relevant education or training in accounting, finance, or business administration, or equivalent practical experience.
