Biologist – Quality Control Jobs in Indianapolis, IN at Lilly

As a Senior Quality Assurance Engineer, you will play a key role ensuring the quality and reliability of applications used by our investment teams, contributing to both ongoing maintenance and new development. The ideal candidate will thrive in a collaborative environment, working closely with a diverse team of software engineers, solution engineers, quality assurance engineers, and end users. You will have the opportunity to make a significant impact through a variety of testing methodologies. This role involves working across our enterprise platform to efficiently support our business areas. Your primary focus will be on developing and executing comprehensive quality tests. This is a hybrid position, requiring you to be in our Woodbridge office three days a week.

Key Responsibilities:

Test Planning and Strategy

Develop comprehensive test plans and strategies to ensure thorough testing of applications.
Define the scope, objectives, and criteria for testing.

Test Execution

Execute manual and automated tests to identify defects and ensure the quality of the software.
Perform functional, regression, integration, and performance testing.

Defect Management

Identify, document, and track defects using test management tools.
Work with development teams to prioritize and resolve defects.

Requirement Analysis

Review and analyze business requirements and technical specifications
Identify gaps and inconsistencies in requirements.

Test Automation

Develop and maintain automated test scripts.
Implement and enhance test automation frameworks

Collaboration

Work closely with software engineers, solution engineers and stakeholders to ensure alignment on testing priorities
Participate in project meetings and provide input on quality assurance processes

Reporting

Monitor project status and prepare detailed test reports.
Communicate test results and quality metrics to stakeholders

Continuous Improvement

Stay updated with the latest testing techniques and tools.
Implement best practices and continuous improvement initiatives in the QA process

Mentorship

Provide guidance and mentorship to junior QA analysts.
Share knowledge and expertise to help improve quality assurance team’s capabilities

Compliance and Standards

Ensure that testing processes comply with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
Maintain documentation and records as required.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree
3+ years of experience in quality assurance or software testing.
Proficiency in one or more test automation tools (e.g., Playwright, ReadyAPI, TestComplete, Selenium)
Hands-on experience with test management tools (e.g., JIRA)
Strong knowledge of SQL and database testing.
Familiarity with performance and load testing tools (e.g., JMeter, LoadRunner).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Understanding of different software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum, Waterfall).
Ability to analyze complex business requirements and technical specifications.
Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional technology teams, including software engineers, solution engineers and stakeholders
ISTQB Certification or Certified Software Quality Analyst (CSQA) preferred
Experience with testing portfolio management and trading systems preferred
Experience with testing applications deployed in the cloud platform like AWS preferred
