Position Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Entry-Level Quality Control Inspector to join our team. This role is critical to ensuring that our products are manufactured to the highest standards. The ideal candidate will have a basic understanding of mechanical drawings, welding processes, and material traceability as they relate to pressure vessels and heat exchangers.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in inspecting incoming materials, in-process fabrication, and final products to ensure compliance with applicable codes (ASME, TEMA, etc.) and internal quality standards
Verify dimensional accuracy using calipers, tape measures, weld gauges, and other measuring tools
Review fabrication drawings and weld maps to confirm correct implementation
Document inspection results and report non-conformances to the Quality Manager
Ensure all parts are properly identified, tagged, and documented before release
Support hydrotesting, NDE (Non-Destructive Examination), and final inspection activities
Work closely with shop personnel, engineers, and project managers to resolve quality issues
Maintain clean and organized inspection areas
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required; technical school training a plus
Basic understanding of welding symbols, fabrication practices, and pressure vessel components
Familiarity with ASME Section VIII and basic NDE methods (visual, PT, RT) preferred
Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings and mechanical blueprints
Good written and verbal communication skills
Strong attention to detail and a willingness to learn
Must be able to work in a manufacturing environment and lift up to 50 lbs as needed
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 – $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
