Job Overview
Tired Hands Brewing Company is looking for a qualified person to join our lab team. This position will work with the Fermentaria, Brewcafé, and Dispensary (oak facility) production teams to produce strange and beautiful liquids. This position will manage all production operations at the Dispensary as well as managing the lab/QC program across all facilities. This position involves lifting, moving, pulling, pushing 35lb+ cases of bottles and cans, moving full kegs onto and off of pallets, driving a forklift, climbing ladders, safely working with chemicals, and working productively in a team environment. Members of the Production team should have a generally positive attitude and keep an immaculately clean work space. Production/lab team members should expect between 35+ hours a week. This position is classified as full time exempt.
Duties And Responsibilities
Following proper SOPs in all aspects of production
Adhering to all safety protocols set in place by Tired Hands Brewing Company
Upholding and administering all company policies
Overseeing production of beer, wine, and cider at our “South Campus” facilities, from raw materials through to finished goods
Sourcing/processing fruit and other raw materials
Recipe formulation
Developing and implementing new processes
Managing production equipment (all tanks, pumps, packaging equipment, RO system, etc)
Coordinating wort and beer transfers to and from the Dispensary
Coordinating packaging (kegging, bottling, canning, et al) of all liquids
Managing supplies and materials for products made at “South Campus” facilities
Managing Lab/Quality Control program
Overseeing fermentation research and quality control assessments
Implementing and managing the sensory analysis program
Developing and presenting process improvements based on findings of research and assessment
Assisting Fermentaria Head Brewer, BrewCafé Brewer, and all Production Team members in their roles
Developing recipes at multiple production facilities
Advising production leads on implementing QC-driven changes to processes
Assisting in integrating production of all facilities

Required Minimum Qualifications
Be at least 21 years of age
College Degree in the Sciences
One or more years working with barrels and a lab at a similarly sized craft brewery
Valid driver’s license with no restrictions
Able to lift 35lbs; able to move 55lbs using tools such as a hand truck or a forklift.
Able to kneel and stoop occasionally.
Able to stand and work for up to 12 hours at a time
Desired Qualifications
Three or more years brewing at a similarly sized brewery
Forklift certifications and aptitude
