We're looking for a Business Analyst / QA Analyst who enjoys working closely with both business stakeholders and software development teams to deliver high-quality applications. This is a hybrid BA/QA role where you'll help define business requirements, validate solutions, and ensure software is thoroughly tested before release.
You'll play a key role throughout the software development lifecycle — from gathering requirements through user acceptance testing and production readiness.
What You'll Do
- Partner with business stakeholders to gather, document, and validate business requirements
- Translate business needs into user stories, functional requirements, and acceptance criteria
- Create process flows, workflow documentation, and supporting artifacts
- Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts
- Perform functional, regression, integration, end-to-end, API, and data validation testing
- Document, prioritize, and track software defects through resolution
- Coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and validate business outcomes
- Collaborate with developers, project managers, and product owners throughout Agile delivery cycles
- Participate in sprint planning, backlog refinement, and release activities
- Help improve testing processes, documentation standards, and overall software quality
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, QA Analyst, or combined BA/QA professional
- Strong understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
- Experience gathering business requirements and writing user stories and acceptance criteria
- Hands-on experience with manual software testing and defect management
- Experience developing and executing test plans and test cases
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and documentation skills
- Excellent communication skills with both technical and business stakeholders
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a collaborative environment
Nice to Have
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
- Experience with Azure DevOps, Jira, or similar ALM platforms
- Experience with Azure DevOps Test Plans or other test management tools
- SQL experience for data validation and troubleshooting
- Experience with API testing and data reconciliation
- Background supporting User Acceptance Testing
- (UAT)Experience working within a PMO or structured project environment
- Industry experience in energy, utilities, land management, or similar industries
