Overview
We are seeking a highly qualified Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) with AWS certification and valid US driver’s license to join our team dedicated to public infrastructure construction projects. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring the integrity, safety, and compliance of welded components across civil infrastructure initiatives. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to critical public works, uphold construction standards, and support quality assurance processes. Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough inspections of welded structures on construction sites, ensuring compliance with project specifications, building codes, and safety regulations.
- Review and interpret construction plans, technical drawings, and blueprints to verify welding procedures and quality standards.
- Perform quality control checks during various phases of construction, documenting findings through detailed reports and data collection.
- Monitor construction site activities to ensure adherence to construction regulations and regulatory compliance standards.
- Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and engineers to resolve issues related to welding quality and construction specifications.
- Assist in analyzing construction plans and specifications for potential issues or deviations from code requirements.
- Conduct regular site inspections focusing on public infrastructure projects such as bridges, roads, or utilities to ensure ongoing compliance.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, non-conformance reports, and corrective actions taken.
- Support safety initiatives by verifying that all welding activities meet established safety regulations.
- Participate in meetings related to construction management, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance.
Experience
- Proven experience working on construction sites within civil infrastructure roles involving public works projects.
- Demonstrated expertise in construction inspection, quality control, and interpreting technical drawings or blueprints.
- Familiarity with construction regulations, building codes, safety standards, and regulatory compliance procedures.
- Prior experience conducting public infrastructure construction inspections is highly desirable.
- Strong analysis skills for evaluating construction plans against actual site conditions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications for report writing and data management.
- Knowledge of construction specifications, contracts, and quality inspection processes.
- Ability to perform detailed construction site inspections while maintaining a focus on safety and quality standards.
