Heartland Counseling Services is looking for a Full-Time Quality and Data Specialist to join our team at the South Sioux City office! The Quality and Data Specialist will be working with the Credible EHR system.

MAIN FUNCTION: The Quality and Data Specialist will have experience in quality assurance, data management, and behavioral health services. The role focuses on monitoring and ensuring the accuracy of clinical data within the Credible Electronic Health Record (EHR) system, assessing compliance with regulatory standards, and supporting initiatives for continuous quality improvement (CQI) across the organization.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Oversee the integrity and accuracy of data entered into the Credible EHR system by clinicians and administrative staff.
Perform regular data audits to ensure compliance with federal, state, and agency-specific standards.
Develop and generate reports from the EHR system, ensuring they are accurate, timely, and meet organizational needs.
Analyze trends in client data and service delivery metrics to identify opportunities for performance improvement.
Monitor clinical documentation to ensure compliance with agency policies and regulatory requirements.
Conduct regular reviews of client files and records to ensure proper coding, documentation, and timely entries in the Credible system.
Collaborate with clinicians and staff to address areas of concern, providing education and training on documentation best practices.
Support the implementation of quality assurance measures that align with industry standards and regulatory bodies.
Provide training and ongoing support to staff on data entry best practices and Credible system functionality.
Assist with the development of training materials and conduct training sessions for new and existing staff members on EHR processes.
Serve as the primary point of contact for troubleshooting EHR-related data and system issues.
Assist with the preparation and submission of reports required by regulatory agencies.
Ensure that the agency remains in compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and accreditation standards.
Maintain current knowledge of behavioral health documentation and compliance requirements (e.g., HIPAA, CARF, state/federal regulations).
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement CQI initiatives that enhance service delivery and operational efficiency.
Collect and analyze client feedback, incident reports, and performance data to drive quality improvement efforts.
Support ongoing process improvements and recommend solutions based on data-driven insights.
Develop and maintain clear, organized, and up-to-date documentation of data management procedures.
Report on quality assurance and data trends to leadership, providing actionable insights and recommendations for improvement.

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and data analysis tools.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and present complex data.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve data entry or system issues in the EHR.
Maintain confidentiality of all client information.
Ability to build and maintain rapport with other staff.
Must comply with all Heartland Counseling Services, Inc. rules and regulations, policies,

and procedures, including those regarding conduct and confidentiality.

Possess a valid driver’s license and an insurable driving record.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, data science, behavioral health, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in data management or quality assurance role, preferably in a behavioral health or healthcare setting.
Experience working with Credible EHR or similar electronic health record systems is required.
Strong understanding of behavioral health regulations and compliance standards (e.g., HIPAA, Medicaid, Medicare, CARF, etc.).
Certification in data management or quality improvement (e.g., Certified Healthcare Data Analyst (CHDA), Certified Quality Auditor (CQA)) preferred.
Experience in process improvement or quality assurance in a behavioral health setting preferred.
Familiarity with other EHR platforms or health information management systems preferred.
