* ** Job Purpose/Overview*
* The Chemistry Laboratory Technician II performs laboratory analyses, tests, prepares samples, sets up instruments, runs tests, reads/interprets tests, and releases results.

+ Sets up and runs laboratory tests.
+ Read and release test results.
+ Prepare and fill all reagents for the analyzer.
+ Keep track of reagent supplies and maintain inventory on the lots and expiration dates of all reagents used.
+ Operate and troubleshoot the analyzer.
+ Reconcile pending and queue lists daily.
+ Ensure that manifests submissions are managed properly
+ Calibrate, run, or enter QC (Quality Controls) when necessary, into QA software and ensure QC has passed before running and release patient samples
+ Run verifications and perform equipment maintenance activities.
+ Comply with all QA policies and protocols.
+ Report any technical/QC problems to their lead tech or supervisor.
+ Follows applicable Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s), including safety and quality procedures.
+ Maintains clean and organized work area. Restocks supplies as needed.
+ May be cross trained to perform other duties, such as performing fewer complex tests. Participates in improving lab efficiency, quality, and cooperation.
+ Consult with senior peers on non-complex Chemistry tasks to learn through experience.

** Education and Experience*
* + High school diploma or equivalent,2- or 4-year degree in science-related field preferred
** Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities*
* + Laboratory skills/experience including setting up, running, and reading lab tests and operating lab instruments preferred.
+ Knowledge of medical and laboratory terminology and chemistry procedures and equipment is helpful.
+ General science background
+ Attention to detail and organized with ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
+ Ability to work independently and as part of a team
+ The ability to communicate effectively and accurately
+ Proficiency in the English language which allows for participation in team meetings, accurate entry of data into company systems and understanding of written directions.
