The Chief Inspector has overall responsibility for the delivery of the Services and management of the Inspectors during each Project and shall maintain direct contact with Company personnel. This position is located in Woodridge, Illinois.
Responsibilities
The Chief Inspector’s responsibilities include monitoring, reporting, and assisting the Company with any questions regarding Services provided by Contractor or Inspectors.
Maintain a log of all issues (safety, quality, compliance, RFIs, early warnings, change requests) submitted through various means. Ensure timely resolution and document corrective actions in a written issue log. Review this log weekly with the Company.
Ensure all Inspector reports and inspection forms are legible, complete, and thorough. Log issues for follow-up and participate in Company meetings as requested.
Ensure proper completion and transmission of all necessary forms, either to the Company or uploaded to the project management system.
Verify that construction work complies with drawings, plans, specifications, and contract documents.
Assist in coordinating efforts among various Contractors and allocate inspection resources effectively, notifying the Company of any deficiencies.
Prepare a pre-commissioning packet (including test charts, cleaning/drying records, material reconciliations, etc.) for Company approval before pipeline commissioning.
Inspect Company-supplied materials for damage, verify quantities, and maintain records. Report deficiencies and ensure proper documentation before unloading materials.
Qualifications
Minimum five (5) years of experience in coordinating/inspecting natural gas transmission/distribution pipeline projects.
Experience managing multiple contractors and inspectors across disciplines.
Ability to read and implement the OPM and construction drawings.
Must hold a Certified Welding Inspector certification.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Adobe, and Bluebeam.
