Overview

We are seeking a skilled Supplier Quality Engineer to join our team. As the Supplier Development Quality Engineer II, you’ll have the chance to develop components and associated quality requirements for new product initiatives. This position is responsible for organizational support of raw material receipt, inspection and approval. The position managing supplier relationships, qualifying components and developing incoming controls that will drive the quality of future components. This will include technical support in the selection of suppliers and developing acceptance criteria for materials.

**Manager’s Note: Component qualification and receiving inspection method development are a couple of the key responsibilities for this role. I’m looking for candidates with experience in process validation and test method validation to give confidence they can perform the key responsibilities.

Responsibilities:

•Organize process that ensures received components are inspected and provided to manufacturing line in a timely manner.

•Reviews inspection records with attention to detail.

•Works closely with cross functional team members, supervisors and inspectors.

•Provides technical support for inspection of components and for the introduction of components from a new supplier.

•Generates and maintains incoming inspection procedures. Trains inspectors to these procedures.

•Develops and/or sources inspection tools and equipment.

•Assists in generating component specifications.

•Generate test protocols, monitor testing, issue qualification test reports and approve components for use in products.

•Provide input to Design Engineering on new component technology and assist in component selection with quality and reliability analysis.

•Analyzes incoming material defects.

•Communicates issues internally and with suppliers.

•Reviews new design specifications and provides input from component quality and manufacturability perspective.

•Work with internal and external stakeholders to qualify supplier processes.

•Develops and validates inspection methods for new components.

•May supervise inspectors.

•Cultivates a wide range of internal networks and begins to develop an extensive external network of resources to facilitate completion of tasks.

•Plans, organizes, and prioritizes own daily work routine to meet established schedule.

•Exercises authority and judgment within defined limits to determine appropriate action.

Required Qualifications:

•Bachelor’s Degree in related field.

•2-5 years of related work experience with a good understanding of specified functional area. Minimum 2 years’ experience.

•Working technical knowledge and application of concepts, practices and procedures.

•Will perform this job in a quality system environment. Failure to adequately perform tasks can result in noncompliance with governmental regulations.

•Ability to work on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of identifiable factors. Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.

•Has a broad knowledge of technical alternatives and an understanding of their impact on the systems environment.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $50.00 – $55.00 per hour
