Bratslavsky Consulting Engineers, Inc., an engineering & construction management company is currently looking to hire a full-time Construction Inspector (CI) to provide construction inspection services at Point Mugu Naval Air Station, California. The Construction Inspector will be responsible for the following:

  • Perform detailed inspections of construction activities to verify compliance with contract drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
  • Monitor workmanship across multiple disciplines, including structural, architectural, and civil construction.
  • Review project documentation, drawings, and technical specifications to assess compliance.
  • Document inspection findings, deficiencies, and corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with project stakeholders including contractors, quality control personnel, and government representatives.
  • Support oversight of project delivery methods such as design-bid-build and design-build.

Place of Performance: Point Mugu Naval Air Station, California

Salary: $114,000.00 – $156,000.00 per year

Schedule: 8-hour day shift Monday to Friday

Minimum Experience/Technical Requirements for Construction Inspectors:

  • High School Level Education
  • Minimum 10 years of construction experience on similar projects (e.g., building construction, marine/waterfront projects)
  • Minimum 5 years of construction experience on environmental restoration projects.
  • Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of building and construction trades, including inspection and/or installation experience
  • Proven ability to read and interpret contract drawings and specifications
  • Experience with design-build, or design-bid-build contracts.
  • Experience as a construction superintendent, providing both supervision and QA/QC duties.
  • Experience with facility and building systems (building envelope, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and structural, etc.) as well as managing all building trades, subcontracts and construction safety.
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience in inspecting facilities and construction for compliance with contract requirements.
  • Physically, workers must be able to; climb and maintain body balance; use hands and arms fully; stand, kneel, bend, crawl, or crouch for long periods; and see well (either naturally or with correction).

Federal Project Experience:

  • At least 2 years of experience on Federal construction projects in roles such as:
  • Construction Inspector
  • Contractor Superintendent
  • Quality Control Manager
