Duties
- Right-of-way (ROW) inspection of franchise utilities providing oversight of public and private utility infrastructure occupying public roadways and easements.
- Conduct comprehensive inspections of construction sites to verify adherence to building codes, safety regulations, and project specifications.
- Review construction plans, blueprints, and technical drawings to interpret design intent and ensure proper implementation during construction activities.
- Perform quality control checks and construction quality inspections to identify issues early and recommend corrective actions.
- Collect data through site observations, measurements, photographs, and detailed reports to document compliance and progress.
- Monitor construction site safety practices, enforce safety regulations, and promote a culture of safety among workers and contractors.
- Analyze construction documents such as contracts, specifications, and regulatory guidelines to ensure project compliance with all applicable laws.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, contractors, and public officials to resolve issues promptly and facilitate smooth project execution.
Experience
- Proven experience working on construction projects within civil infrastructure or public works sectors.
- Strong knowledge of building code analysis, construction regulations, and regulatory compliance standards.
- Demonstrated ability in interpreting technical drawings, blueprint reading, and understanding construction plans and specifications.
- Familiarity with construction management processes including contracts administration and data collection techniques.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite for report writing, documentation, and communication purposes.
- Hands-on experience conducting site inspections for quality assurance and safety compliance.
- Excellent analysis skills with attention to detail to identify potential issues early in the construction process.
