The Construction Quality Control Manager plays an essential role in overseeing the various aspects of project execution, ensuring that construction activities meet both external regulatory standards, contractual requirements, and internal quality benchmarks. This position involves a strategic blend of monitoring, assessment, and feedback mechanisms, aimed at maintaining the integrity and excellence of construction projects from inception to completion.
By coordinating closely with project teams, this manager ensures that all construction processes, materials, and final outputs align with specified quality requirements, thereby safeguarding the project’s structural integrity and operational functionality. Through a meticulous approach to quality assurance, the Construction Quality Control Manager supports the achievement of project objectives while also upholding the reputation of the construction firm for delivering superior workmanship.
The Quality Control Manager will be responsible for creating and implementing quality control procedures to ensure that all work is completed in compliance with the relevant contract documents, submittals, industry standards, and manufacturers installation requirements.
It is the intent of Wright Construction’s Quality Control Program to initially eliminate all nonconforming methods or materials from entering the jobsite or becoming incorporated into the work-in-place; and if found after-the-fact, to remove or correct any nonconforming materials or workmanship that have become incorporated into the work-in-place; and to provide for substantial compliance with the Contract Documents.
This role requires attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a thorough understanding of construction plans and specifications.
Responsibilities
Establish a collaborative atmosphere on each project in regards to the pursuit of a high-quality project for the client. This collaboration would include Wright Construction team members, the client, the design team, as well as the subcontractors.
Ensure that construction projects adhere to quality standards, regulations, and client specifications.
Develop and implement quality control procedures and protocols for construction sites.
Conduct regular inspections of construction sites to identify deficiencies and opportunities for improvement.
Work with project managers and superintendents to address quality issues and ensure corrective actions are taken.
Manage and track inspection reports, logs, and other quality documentation.
Train and educate project managers, superintendents, and other construction personnel on quality control procedures and best practices.
Stay up-to-date on industry standards and regulations for quality control in the construction industry.
Collaborate with clients, contractors, and design professionals to resolve quality-related issues.
Monitor and assess the performance of subcontractors and suppliers to ensure compliance with quality standards.
Review construction materials, ensuring they meet project specifications and quality standards before they are used on-site.
Facilitate pre-installation meetings to discuss quality control practices and expectations with subcontractors and project team members.
Investigate customer complaints related to construction quality, determining root causes, and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
