A. PURPOSE
Ability to lead a team of 4 to 10 QC Technicians. Exercise good judgement, guidance, mentorship and role modeling the appropriate GMP’s to QC Technicians and other employees in the plant. Employee can be a resource to effectively perform various advanced Quality Control Technician responsibilities across all lines in the production of USDA and FDA products.

Note: All tasks for a Quality Control Technicians Level II and III are applied to Quality Assurance Lead in addition to the following:
1. Guides, trains and motivates QC Inspectors Level I to III
2. Provide technical assistance in the execution of internal audits, product trace-ability and mock recall exercises, 3rd party and customer audits.
3. Lead a team of 4 to 10 QC Technicians I to III
4. Provide advanced technical support and uses judgement to operations regarding process deviation reports and product specifications
5. Perform advanced product investigations and uses independent judgement to determine disposition, may collaborate with management
6. Advanced review of documentation HACCP verification activities (Pre-Shipment Review, Cook System Verifications, Direct Observations) and SSOP monitoring activities (pre-operational and operational) applies independent judgement
7. Advanced tasks to maintain environmental monitoring programs including weekly and monthly microbiological testing is being performed to standard, may conduct quality checks within department to assure compliance
8. Identifies and applies independent judgement toward corrective actions of finding to deficiencies to Quality Assurance and Operations Management
9. Role models Food Safety and Quality Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) as required
10. Performs advanced food safety and quality inspections on the line(s) applies independent judgement to corrective actions, may collaborate with management.
11. Advanced knowledge tools used in the scope of work including but not limited to thermometers, x-ray/ metal detectors, weighing scale, pH meter, Bostwick etc.
12. Advanced food safety knowledge compatible with meat processing.
13. Ability to problem solve and use independent judgement to corrective actions addressing any unsafe conditions, may collaborate with management
14. Ability to apply independent judgement in review of quality inspection forms.
15. Advanced knowledge and understanding of quality assurance policies and procedures such as SQF (Facilities, Equipment, SSOP, SOP, GMP’s, etc.).

5. Knowledge on HACCP and GMP requirements for employee practices in a USDA/FDA Establishment.
6. Knowledge on calibration requirements for all testing equipment used for monitoring tasks of food safety and quality.
7. Knowledge of employee safety practices.
8. Able to follow written instructions and procedures.
9. Knowledge of company employee policies.
10. Flexible schedule, open availability M-F, plus OT and weekends if needed.
11. Work in hot or cold and humid environment.
12. Able to keep a good attendance record.
C. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
1. Some college (BS degree is highly desired)
2. 3 to 4 years’ experience on food processing environment or equivalent (USDA is highly desired).ssurance Manager.

Pay: $19.00 – $20.00 per hour
