The Leadership Academy for the Metropolitan Police Service is continuing to grow and has partnered with Reed Talent Solutions to recruit a Continuous Improvement Support professional.
Based in central London this role will be mostly on site with the opportunity to work 1 day from home per week.
This role would suit a creative and detail‑focused learning professional with experience in content design and continuous improvement, and a passion for enhancing leadership development through high‑quality, accessible learning experiences.
The starting salary will range between £36,228 and £37,098 (including additional allowances). You will also receive a significant civil service pension with 28.97% contribution by the employer annually as part of your package. Your annual leave will be 28 days + bank holidays rising to 33 day after 5 years of service.
About the Role
In this role, you will support the design, presentation and continuous improvement of leadership programmes delivered by the Met Leadership Academy. Working closely with the Course Programme Manager, Course Programme Lead, quality assurance teams, facilitators and subject matter experts, you will help shape learning products that are engaging, inclusive and aligned to organisational priorities.
You will contribute to improving the learner experience across face‑to‑face, virtual and on‑demand programmes, including enhancing online materials, developing immersive learning products, and ensuring content remains current, accessible and effective.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the design and continuous improvement of leadership development programmes across multiple delivery formats
- Implement design iterations aligned to course objectives, learner feedback and organisational needs
- Improve accessibility and user experience of learning materials and LMS content
- Track and analyse participant and facilitator evaluation data to inform content changes
- Work collaboratively with quality assurance teams, facilitators and SMEs to refine leadership content
- Support the development of immersive learning products, including interactive and digital resources
- Act as a point of contact for leadership content queries and scheduled content reviews
- Monitor trends in feedback and learning data to measure the impact of improvements
- Stay informed on organisational priorities, policy changes and best practice in leadership development
The Ideal You
- Experience in content design and continuous improvement, ideally within a learning or leadership development environment
- Understanding of instructional design methodologies (e.g. ADDIE, SAT, DSAT) and adult learning principles
- Strong ability to translate complex concepts into clear, engaging and accessible content
- Experience using feedback and data to drive iterative improvements
- Confident in contributing ideas and challenging existing approaches constructively
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to quality
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly PowerPoint, Word and Excel
- A collaborative mindset with strong communication and storytelling skills
Preferred Experience & Qualifications
- Learning & Development or leadership development background
- Experience with immersive or digital learning approaches (e.g. VR, AR, simulation‑based learning)
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (e.g. Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Acrobat)
- Degree or equivalent in Instructional Design, Education, Learning & Development or a related field
- Professional certifications such as CIPD Level 3–5
- Exposure to project management approaches (e.g. PRINCE2, Agile)
- Experience in public sector, policing or similarly complex environments is desirable
