Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Program Manager for Canada, CATS, the EHS Coordinator will be responsible for all Environment, Health & Safety initiative program, policies across Canada, by supporting all Canadian Operations across the main operations bases, head office and warehouses.
Propose and implement prevention strategies and programs thus contributing to the establishment of a culture focused on the reporting of incidents and on the coaching of supervisors;
Analyze trends in accidents, incidents and inspections and prepare corrective action plans;
Manage the EH&S reports in SMS Pro
Collect, analyze the health and safety statistical reports and communicate key performance indicators to the manager;
Ensure our Emergency Response Plan is updated and communicated annually;
Promote the prevention of workplace accidents across all company sites;
Coordinate training activities and presentations on occupational health and safety and accident prevention;
Assist and support representatives of occupational health and safety to ensure that workplace inspections, danger reports and safety documents comply with regulations;
Actively participates in the daily life of the hangar and acts as an advisor;
Conduct ergonomic assessments and recommend improvement as needed;
Ensure compliance with the WHMIS program and manage Paratox software;
Provide an advisory role in OHS and act as an agent of influence and change with employees and managers;
Maintain and update the Top Aces occupational health and safety manual;
Perform worksite inspections to assess hazards and risks in the workplace and ensure compliance;
Lead the National EH&S meetings;
Act as the lead with the Federal inspector or any other government health and safety representative if necessary (audit, accident, follow-up, etc.);
Work in collaboration with the management team of accident files in the workplace.
Perform inspections and document observations with the aim of supervising and advising health and safety representatives.
Ensure that training records and certifications are up to date
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
College diploma in environment and safety at work or university certificate in Health and Safety;
3- 5 years of health and safety experience.
Experience working with provincial and/or federal legislation on Health and Safety at work;
Aviation EHS experience, an asset;
Ability to communicate effectively in writing and orally English and French;
Well organized, ability to multitask and work under tight deadlines;
Positive and professional attitude, capable of taking initiatives;
Autonomous, leadership, thoroughness, attention to detail and structure;
Discretion and confidential concern;
Ability to prioritize competing requests;
Strong skills with the Microsoft Office suite;
Demonstrates strong and visible support for our values;
Flexibility in working hours and open to working overtime if necessary.
