The following position is available for the 2026-27 school year; CTE WORK-BASED LEARNING INTERNSHIP COORDINATOR FULL TIME *Work-Based Learning Coordinator Position Overview The Work-Based Learning (WBL) Coordinator is a highly dynamic role responsible for coordinating and delivering high-quality internship experiences for students across the Davis School District. This position requires a strong ability to manage complex, interdependent processes while building and sustaining relationships with industry partners, students, and educators. The coordinator serves as both a program manager and educator—balancing logistics, instruction, and partnership development. Success in this role requires professionalism, initiative, adaptability, and a strong commitment to expanding student access to meaningful, real-world learning experiences. Team and Work Environment The WBL Coordinator is part of a collaborative, cross-trained team that shares responsibility for program outcomes. Team members operate within interconnected workflows, requiring a high level of communication, flexibility, and collective problem-solving. No two days are the same. Coordinators must be able to shift between responsibilities—supporting students, coordinating placements, engaging partners, and responding to emerging needs—while maintaining a high standard of quality and consistency. Program Impact Work-based learning is a key driver of student success and workforce readiness within Career and Technical Education (CTE). The district has established a goal to expand internship access by 100% over the next three years. This role plays a direct part in achieving that goal by growing business partnerships, increasing student participation, and ensuring high-quality experiences for all participants. Key Responsibilities Student Outreach and Recruitment
- Lead and participate in outreach efforts at junior high and high school campuses to promote CTE pathways and internship opportunities
- Engage students, families, and school staff to build awareness and increase participation
- Support growth in CTE enrollment to expand the pipeline of internship-ready students Teacher and School Collaboration
- Build strong, ongoing relationships with teachers and school leaders
- Align internship opportunities with CTE programs to support student pathways
- Partner with educators to identify and recruit qualified students Business Partnership Development
- Develop and maintain relationships with business and industry partners
- Identify and secure new internship sites aligned to regional workforce demands, student interest, and program offerings
- Support mentors in developing meaningful, structured internship experiences
- Maintain consistent communication and address challenges proactively Program Coordination and Placement
- Manage the student application process, including evaluation of readiness and eligibility
- Coordinate student placements, balancing partner needs, student qualifications, and logistical considerations
- Maintain accurate records and ensure smooth execution of all program processes Instruction and Student Development
- Facilitate student onboarding and preparation for workplace expectations
- Develop curriculum and lesson plans that utilize effective teaching strategies to engage and increase student learning
- Teach and/or co-teach internship-related coursework focused on professional and durable skills
- Support student growth through coaching, feedback, and skill development Student Support and Monitoring
- Conduct regular site visits to ensure safe, high-quality internship experiences
- Monitor student attendance, performance, and professionalism
- Communicate with students, parents, and partners to address concerns and ensure success
- Provide academic support, including grading and feedback through Canvas Compliance and Quality Assurance
- Conduct site approvals to ensure alignment with safety and program standards
- Establish and maintain partnership agreements, including tracking and renewals
- Ensure all program components meet district expectations and requirements Qualifications Required:
- Experience in workforce development or a related field
- Experience working with students, partners, or programs requiring coordination and relationship management Preferred:
- Experience in Career and Technical Education (CTE) or work-based learning
- Experience developing partnerships with industry or community organizations
- Familiarity with internship or workforce development programs Key Competencies
