Customer Care Training & Quality Lead Jobs in New Haven, CT at Regional Water Authority

Manage Supplier Quality function to ensure compliance with quality standards and applicable government regulations. Responsible for the development and implementation of a world-class quality system while effectively leading a team of Quality personnel.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.

Establish, maintain and optimize an effective supplier quality management system.
Implement appropriate controls to ensure the quality of incoming and outgoing products, and reduce RPPM.
Work with customers and suppliers to effectively communicate MDHI quality requirements, schedules and goals.
Maintains a corrective action system to analyze and correct nonconforming conditions.
Work closely with Engineering, Supply Chain, and Division Management to standardize supplier quality processes.
Set Quality standards and metrics for the Supplier Quality department in support of Quality Assurance and Company goals and Continuous Improvement objectives.
Perform quality system reviews and lead the preventative/corrective action efforts.
Establishes and implements testing and inspection procedures.
Develops, plans and manages all Quality Control/Inspector’s duties.
Performs internal and external Quality Audits.
Other duties may be assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Manages time and department priorities/assignments effectively to meet organizational goals and company policies in the Supplier Quality Department.
Makes informed and timely decisions on routine and critical issues.
Embraces team building principles and effectively communicates expectations to employees.
Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, evaluation and continuous improvement of the Supplier Quality Department.
Responsibilities include participation in interviewing and hiring, training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Knowledge of quality assurance disciplines required.
Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) required.
Expertise in technical quality tools and techniques.
Ability to multi task and prioritize workload within department.
Ability to successfully coordinate efforts of staff outside of individual’s span of authority.
Up to fifteen (15%) travel required with significant supplier/customer interface.
Previous experience working within a supplier quality department is required.
Previous management experience is required.
Strong interpersonal skills – creative thinker with exemplary written and verbal communication skills and the ability to effectively communicate orally or in written form with both co-management and internal/external customers and regulatory representatives (DCMA/FAA) is required.
Demonstrated ability to anticipate and solve practical problems or resolve issues is required.
Ability to work both autonomously and within a team environment.
Process improvement experience is required.
Thorough knowledge of AS 9100 and ISO 9001 is required.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite to include Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Project.
Experience and strong understanding of regulatory requirements associated with 14 CFR Part 21 and Part 145 is required.
Background in Aviation/Aerospace is required.
The ability to understand and follow instructions and the ability to concentrate.
Access to Export Control Information.
Regular attendance at the work site is required

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) from a four-year College with 6 – 10 years in aviation quality roles and/or training or equivalent combination of education and training.
