This is a full-time position with associated benefits. This position is responsible for writing bids, grants and proposals for both unrestricted operating revenue and restricted projects; for submitting timely and accurate reports for all existing funded projects as indicated; and to keep the Agency contract list updated as new projects are awarded or expire. When there are no projects in development, this position will be responsible for completing quality assurance visits on a random basis to assist and coach staff with fidelity to curricula and compliance with Agency procedures, and other duties in our Administrative offices.
Major Responsibilities:
Responsible for conducting the full range of activities required to prepare, submit, and manage bids, grants and proposals to foundation and governmental sources.
Monitor several notification sites for various governmental solicitations and proposals. Comply with all grant reporting as required by foundations and other governmental sources.
Understanding and promotion of the Agency history, background and mission statement.
Perform research on foundations and other sources to evaluate prospects for foundation and other source grants.
Maintain current records in database and in electronic files, including grant tracking and reporting. Keep the Agency’s contract list updated with new awards or expiration.
Track statistics relevant to program development and provide to Administration department and utilize as approved in various funding requests. Develop program outcome reports as needed to assist with program improvements.
Work with CEO to provide development input for written Agency materials (including newsletters, Board of Director Meetings, marketing materials, etc).
Quality assurance visits on a random basis to assist and coach staff with fidelity to curricula and compliance with Agency procedures.
Gather information necessary and develop budgets for projects under development/submission. Assist Administration staff as needed with revising various program budgets or other tasks.
Experience with website design and/or maintenance a plus; along with experience working with SharePoint and workflow automation.
Knowledge and Skills:
Strong written communication skills; ability to write clear, structured, articulate, and persuasive proposals.
Strong editing skills, attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
Experience/knowledge with proposal writing and foundation or governmental funding sources, basic marketing and fundraising techniques/strategies, and research techniques for use in bids, grants and proposals.
Strong contributor in team environments
Proficient with Microsoft excel and proper budgeting formulas.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree preferred. Familiarity or experience with curricula used with formerly incarcerated individuals preferred.
Previous experience with non-profit grant writer/technical writer desired.
Experience working in deadline-driven environments.
Able to work well in a team environment, handle multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
Able to monitor and meet income goals.
