Dimensional Quality Assurance Technician (PPAP/ISIR Specialist) Jobs in Spring Lake, MI at Sintel Manufacturing
Your day, delivering reliable parts
You start by aligning with Sintel’s Quality Policy, Quality Manual, and the applicable Operating Procedures and Work Instructions that guide this role. From there, you move to the line to validate the very first part off the press, check in-process samples at defined intervals, and sign off final pieces before shipment—always against engineering drawings, ISIRs, and Control Plans.
Mid-morning, operators ask for help setting up precision gaging; you configure the right gauges, verify they’re calibrated, and show how to capture measurements correctly. After lunch, you compile ISIRs and build out PPAP documentation to meet specific customer requirements. A nonconforming condition pops up—you open an 8D, drive it through to closure, and ensure containment and corrective actions are recorded. Before wrap-up, you complete scheduled gage calibrations and audit parts that have gone through outside processes like E-coat and plating to confirm they meet spec.
Core responsibilities
- Adhere to Sintel’s quality system documents and job-specific instructions.
- Perform first-article, in-process, and final inspections using blueprints, ISIRs, and Control Plans with appropriate measurement gauges.
- Set up and verify gaging for operators upon request.
- Partner with operators and supervisors to resolve inspection and quality concerns.
- Support customers and vendors on quality-related matters.
- Prepare, submit, and maintain ISIRs and PPAP packages per customer requirements.
- Open, document, and drive nonconforming material through resolution using the 8D methodology.
- Conduct and record scheduled gage calibrations.
- Inspect components after external special processes (e.g., E-coat, plating).
