We are seeking an experienced Director of Food Safety & Quality Assurance to lead all FSQA functions at our large-scale food and beverage manufacturing facility. This role is responsible for building and sustaining a culture of food safety, regulatory compliance, and continuous quality improvement across the plant.

Key responsibilities

  • Own and continuously improve the plant's HACCP, SQF/BRC, and FSMA-compliant food safety programs.
  • Lead third-party, customer, and regulatory audits (FDA, USDA); manage audit readiness year-round.
  • Direct quality control operations including incoming ingredients, in-process checks, and finished goods release.
  • Manage and develop FSQA team members including QA Managers, Food Safety Specialists, and lab staff.
  • Partner with Operations, R&D, and Procurement to resolve quality issues and support new product launches.
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action (CAPA) programs; drive systemic quality improvement.
  • Oversee supplier quality programs, including approval, monitoring, and non-conformance management.

Qualifications

  • B.S. in Food Science, Microbiology, or related field
  • 10+ years in FSQA within food/beverage manufacturing
  • HACCP, PCQI, and/or SQF/BRC practitioner certification
  • Deep knowledge of FDA/USDA regulations and FSMA
  • Proven leadership managing cross-functional teams
  • Strong analytical, communication, and influencing skills
