Position Overview

The Director Maintenance (DOM) / Quality Assurance Manager (QAM) is the designated Person Responsible for Maintenance (PRM). This role is the final authority for the airworthiness and regulatory compliance of North Cariboo Air’s 704 and 705 fleets. You are responsible for the strategic leadership of the maintenance department while simultaneously maintaining independent quality oversight to ensure the highest safety standards and strict adherence to the Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs).

Position Highlights

  • Maintenance Leadership (PRM/DOM): Directs all maintenance activities, ensuring work is performed in accordance with the MCM and regulatory requirements.
  • Quality Oversight (QAM): Manages the Quality Assurance program, including internal audits, finding tracking, and root cause analysis for any maintenance deviations.
  • Regulatory Liaison: Acts as the principal point of contact for Transport Canada on all maintenance, airworthiness, and licensing matters.
  • Safety Management Systems (SMS): Integrates maintenance data into the company SMS to proactively identify risks and implement corrective actions.
  • Manual & Program Control: Maintains and updates the Maintenance Control Manual (MCM) and individual Standard Maintenance Procedures (SMP) .
  • Vendor Management: Audits and approves external Approved Maintenance Organizations (AMOs) and parts suppliers to ensure technical integrity.
  • Personnel Management: Oversees the training, licensing, and performance of all maintenance staff to ensure a highly skilled and compliant workforce.

Experience and Qualifications

  • Licensing: Valid Transport Canada AME License (M1/M2) is required.
  • Regulatory Status: Must meet all Transport Canada requirements to be approved as PRM.
  • Experience: Minimum 10 years in aviation maintenance with at least 5 years in a senior management role (DOM or QAM) under CAR 704/705 operations.
  • Knowledge: Comprehensive expertise in CARs Part V and Part VII, SMS implementation, and Quality Audit techniques.
  • Education: Degree or Diploma in Aviation Management or Engineering is considered a strong asset.
