We are seeking a Senior Quality Systems Engineer to play a key role in maintaining and enhancing our quality management system. What you’ll do in this role:

This position is responsible for applying advanced quality engineering principles and theoretical knowledge to solve quality problems and develop, implement, and monitor quality systems and processes. This position works closely with operations and engineering teams to solve problems, improve productivity, and develop and document processes to ensure compliance to customer and regulatory requirements (AS9100, ISO 9001, CFR, FAA) and our quality management system.

How you will be measured:
Responsible for tracking quality function metrics.
Responsible for leading efforts on various quality processes such as internal audits, change management, and corrective actions to drive continuous improvement and compliance.
Assist in development, deployment, and maintenance of an electronic quality management system.
Drive process improvement for better operational execution and improved compliance to AS9100, ISO 9001, CFR, FAA, and customer requirements, moving toward compliance with AS13100.
Has full responsibility to achieve results by identifying technical opportunities and recommending improvements important to the business. Implements systems, methods, and procedures, and is sought after as a technical expert.
Collect data, conduct evaluations and tests to identify defective components and products and work closely with production staff, supervisors and engineering teams to problem solve, determine root cause, and implement solutions.
Provide support in executing all requirements of established systems.
Coordinate and manage resolution of problems using advanced methodologies as defined by internal and external customers. Lead investigations to identify root causes and implement containment and corrective actions.
Identify, develop, and establish systems to enable companywide compliance with all applicable regulations both voluntary and compulsory.
Acts as project leader, identifies and interprets business impact of events. Provide direct quality support to manufacturing operations.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives with a focus on improving yield, reducing variation and standardizing processes.
Lead and manage quality system, product and process audits to ensure compliance as well as implement solutions and opportunities for improvement
Performs other duties as assigned.

What sets you apart

Qualifications:
Eligible to work in an ITAR regulated environment required.
Technical Bachelor’s degree (or 58 years of experience in a technical field relative to the manufacturing environment and professional certification) required. Technical Master’s degree a plus.
Certified Quality Engineer, Certified Quality Auditor, Internal or Lead Auditor, Six Sigma certifications a plus.
3 5 years of experience as a quality engineer or similar role in a regulated manufacturing environment required.
Knowledge of ISO 9001 required. Knowledge of AS9100 and AS13100 preferred.
Audit experience required.
Experience with an electronic QMS required. Experience with developing and deploying an eQMS a plus.
Experience with nonconformance / material review board, FMEA, PPAP / APQP, IQ/OQ/PQ, process validation a plus.
Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and be able to react to shifting priorities to meet business needs required.
Strong ability to organize procedural steps and write process documentation required.
Strong problemsolving, analytical, organizational and critical thinking skills required.
Experience with root cause / corrective action methods required.
Able to effectively manage projects and lead teams to solve problems.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications required. Proficiency with Minitab a plus.

Physical Requirements:

Hearing: Adequate to perform job duties in person, over the telephone, and on the production floor.

Speaking: Must be able to communicate clearly in person, over the telephone, and on the production floor.

Vision: Visual acuity of 20/25 minimum, including color perception, adequate to perform job duties including visual examination of manufactured parts and reading information from printed sources and computer screens.

Other: May require infrequent lifting and carrying items weighing up to 30 pounds unassisted, including assisting co-workers when required. Adequate physical ability including sufficient manual dexterity to perform the requisite duties. May requires bending, reaching, repetitive hand movements, standing, walking, and sitting, with some lifting, pushing and pulling exerted periodically throughout a regular work shift.
