Job Overview:
The Pathology Assistant will support the Pathologists and the Laboratory Services team in the preparation and examination of tissue specimens.
Qualifications:
Required:
Bachelor s degree or Master’s degree from an accredited Pathologist Assistant program, or in a medical or scientific field with at least 1 year of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified
Eligible to take the American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP) certification examination
Qualified by academic and practical training to assist in providing service in anatomic pathology under the direction and supervision of an anatomic pathologist

Essential Functions:
Assist in the gross examination and dissection of surgical specimens, manage laboratory workflow, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards
Ensure accurate and thorough documentation of specimen descriptions, measurements, and findings
Assist in the preparation of reports and presentations for Tumor Board committee
Participate in quality assurance and quality control procedures
