Southwestern Recovery Center is a leading outpatient addiction treatment center dedicated to supporting individuals on their journey to recovery. We provide compassionate, evidence-based care in a supportive environment. We are seeking a detail-oriented and professional Laboratory Tech Assistant to join our team.
Job Summary:
The Laboratory Tech Assistant will play a critical role in our treatment center by assisting with the collection, processing, and testing of urine samples using an immunoanalyzer. This position requires precision, adherence to protocols, and a commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and dignity.
Key Responsibilities:
Collect urine samples from patients in accordance with established protocols, ensuring proper labeling and chain of custody.
Prepare and process samples for testing using an immunoanalyzer.
Operate and maintain immunoanalyzer equipment, performing routine calibration and quality control checks.
Accurately record and report test results in compliance with regulatory standards.
Maintain a clean and organized laboratory environment, adhering to safety and infection control guidelines.
Assist with inventory management of laboratory supplies and reagents.
Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure seamless patient care and communication.
Uphold patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; associate’s degree or certification in medical laboratory technology preferred.
Previous experience in a clinical laboratory or healthcare setting is a plus.
Familiarity with immunoanalyzer systems or similar diagnostic equipment preferred.
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow strict protocols.
Excellent interpersonal skills and sensitivity to patient needs.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.
Basic computer skills for data entry and record-keeping.
Must pass a background check and drug screening.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
Capable of lifting up to 25 pounds and handling laboratory equipment.
