Electrical QA/QC – Power & Transmission
Location: Abilene, Texas
Pay: Starting at $25.00/hour and up, DOE
Per Diem: Provided
Truck Pay: Available with valid driver’s license and proof of insurance
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Electrical QA/QC professional for work in the Abilene, Texas area. The ideal candidate will have hands-on electrical and quality control experience in power generation, transmission, and/or high-voltage electrical systems.
Candidates with experience involving transmission lines, transformers, generator and incoming power systems, circuit breakers, feeders, and bus systems are strongly encouraged to apply.
Experience across all listed systems is preferred; however, candidates with strong QA/QC experience in one or more of these areas will be considered.
Preferred Experience
- Electrical QA/QC inspection and documentation
- Transmission line systems
- Power transformers
- Generator Circuit Breakers (GCBs)
- Incoming Circuit Breakers (ICBs)
- Feeder Circuit Breakers (FCBs)
- Feeder and bus systems
- High-voltage and medium-voltage electrical equipment
- Electrical drawings, schematics, and one-line diagrams
- Electrical equipment installation and inspection
- Testing and commissioning activities
- Identification and documentation of deficiencies
- Punch-list development and closeout
- Verification of work against project drawings, specifications, and applicable codes
Responsibilities
- Perform QA/QC inspections of electrical installations and equipment.
- Verify electrical work is completed according to approved drawings, specifications, procedures, and applicable codes.
- Inspect transmission, transformer, breaker, feeder, bus, and associated electrical systems as applicable to the project.
- Review electrical drawings, schematics, specifications, and documentation.
- Monitor installation activities and identify workmanship or compliance issues.
- Document deficiencies and assist with tracking corrective actions through completion.
- Develop and maintain inspection reports, punch lists, and QA/QC documentation.
- Coordinate with electrical supervision, contractors, engineering personnel, and project management.
- Participate in testing, turnover, and commissioning activities as required.
- Verify completed work is ready for turnover and meets project quality requirements.
Qualifications
- Previous electrical construction, power generation, transmission, substation, industrial, or related experience required.
- Previous Electrical QA/QC experience strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of electrical drawings, one-lines, schematics, and specifications.
- Familiarity with transformers, breakers, feeders, bus systems, and associated electrical equipment.
- Ability to identify installation deficiencies and document findings accurately.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain organized QA/QC documentation.
- Ability to communicate effectively with field personnel, supervisors, contractors, and management.
- Must be dependable and able to work independently in a field/project environment.
- Valid driver’s license required for truck-pay eligibility.
- Current vehicle insurance required for truck-pay eligibility.
Compensation & Benefits
- $25.00/hour and up depending on experience
- Per diem provided
- Truck pay available for qualified employees with a valid driver’s license and current vehicle insurance
- Compensation may increase based on relevant QA/QC, transmission, power generation, transformer, breaker, and commissioning experience.
