Position Summary:

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Quality Engineer Co-op to join our team. This role is ideal for current students in their 2nd year or above seeking hands-on experience in aerospace quality within a dynamic and collaborative aerospace organization.

Working with experienced professionals in the Quality Department ideal candidate will be responsible for working in a safe manner, adhering to all company safety policies, be a champion for safety, responsible for supporting the Quality Department in the plan, coordination, and execution of quality control activities to assure delivery of conforming products that meet all company and customer Quality requirements.

This internship is on-site and can be part-time (20+hours/ week) or full-time, with the schedule determined based on availability and course load.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

Works in a safe manner, adheres to safety policies and procedures, and ensures those working in the same area are working safely
Assist in developing SPC and in-process inspection forms for manufacturing operations
Develop/maintain nonconformance data for metric generation and analysis
Assist in root cause evaluations and implementation of corrective actions
Perform reviews of fixturing, dimensional conformance, and documentation of in-process jobs
Assist in various continuous improvement efforts throughout the facility
Support MRB activities as directed
Create presentations to report on current projects to Leadership team
Performs other duties as required

Required Skills:

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work as part of a team and independently
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as basic algebra. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Microsoft Office Suite – Particularly Microsoft Excel
Desired experience with pivot tables, VBA, or other coding language

Additional Skills:

Familiarity with common inspection tools and their capabilities.
Familiarity with reading blueprints and GD&T basics.
Technical writing experience (e.g., Work Instructions, Process Procedures, etc.)

Required Experience:

Prior experience as a Quality Engineer Co-op/Intern desired but not required.

Physical Requirements:

Occasional lifting of up to 20 pounds
Frequently work near heavy machinery or equipment
Demands of a manufacturing environment

Required Education:

Current Junior or Senior in College graduating with a Mechanical Engineering degree with a focus on Quality/ Lean Manufacturing.

For informational purposes only, the range of pay for this role is $21.00 to $31.50 US Dollar (USD) Hourly based on a variety of factors. Employees will receive 0 hours paid time off every year. Employees are eligible to enroll in the Company’s 401(k) plan.
