Entry-Level Food Production Quality Assurance Technician
Position Summary
The Quality Assurance Technician helps ensure that all food products meet company quality, food safety, and customer standards. This entry-level position performs routine inspections, completes required documentation, and reports food safety or quality concerns to management.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Inspect products for quality, appearance, weight, labeling, packaging, and proper date codes.
- Monitor production areas to ensure employees follow GMP, sanitation, and food safety requirements.
- Verify that temperatures, weights, seals, and other production standards are within acceptable limits.
- Complete inspection forms and production records accurately.
- Identify and report damaged, contaminated, mislabeled, or out-of-specification products.
- Place questionable products on hold when directed by management.
- Check that employees use required PPE and follow handwashing and hygiene procedures.
- Help investigate quality issues and communicate concerns to production supervisors.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Follow all company safety, food safety, attendance, and workplace policies.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- No previous quality assurance experience required; training will be provided.
- Ability to read, write, and complete basic documentation.
- Basic math and measurement skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate concerns clearly and professionally.
- Willingness to work in a fast-paced, refrigerated food-production environment.
- Bilingual English/Spanish is helpful but not required.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for most of the shift.
- Ability to bend, reach, and perform repetitive tasks.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds when required.
- Ability to work around refrigerated temperatures, water, food products, machinery, and cleaning chemicals.
- Ability to wear required PPE, including gloves, hairnet, smock, and protective footwear.
Schedule
Must be available to work assigned shifts, including overtime, weekends, and holidays based on production needs.
Pay: $13.00 per hour
