The Quality Assurance Lead is responsible for ensuring that all products meet the quality and food safety standards set forth by Keany Produce & Gourmet, as well as those required by federal, state, and local regulatory agencies, GFSI standards, and customer expectations. This role plays a critical part in safeguarding the integrity of the company’s food safety systems through hands-on leadership, continuous monitoring, and cross-departmental collaboration.

Key Responsibilities:

Quality & Compliance Monitoring:
Conduct daily product line audits to verify compliance with HACCP, GMP, weight accuracy, and defect limits.
Collect, interpret, and report SPC (Statistical Process Control) data to monitor and improve process consistency.
Perform physical, organoleptic, and microbiological testing, including preparation and shipment of swab samples to external labs.
Perform environmental sampling and assist with in-house micro testing.
Process and Program Management:
Assist in the maintenance and continuous improvement of QA and manufacturing programs.
Conduct pre-shipment verifications by reviewing production documentation.
Perform regular audits to ensure GMP and process compliance.
Monitor compliance with allergen control programs including segregation and employee training.
Support traceability and recall programs, ensuring readiness at any time.
Leadership & Cross-Functional Support:
Serve as a liaison between the QA department, operations, and other support functions.
Provide day-to-day leadership, coaching, and guidance to QA staff.
Assist with team training and facilitate the implementation of standardized work practices aligned with QA/Food Safety policies.
Issue Resolution & Continuous Improvement:
Identify and isolate non-conforming products and ingredients.
Communicate out-of-compliance conditions to management and contain any affected materials.
Lead or participate in root cause investigations and corrective action initiatives.
Analyze process and product control data to support production and management teams.
Regulatory & Audit Readiness:
Prepare documentation and support facility readiness for private and governmental audits.
Assist in the development and revision of finished product specifications and photo standards.
Participate in HACCP, SSOP, and microbiological monitoring program reviews and verification processes.
